On the 23rd of April, 2024, at the Conference for Catastrophe Preparedness (Fachtagung Katastrophenvorsorge), Daniel F. Lorenz and Cordula Dittmer led a session on emergency aid in the Ukraine and the question of what lessons can be learned from these experiences for the German civil protection. In this session, four different expert presentations from Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (DKH), Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe (JUH), Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB), and the Disaster Research Unit (KFS) presented specific emergency aid measures in the Ukraine and discussed various aspects of possible lessons for Germany. The blog post recounts the presentations and discussions.
