We successfully completed our Short Term Scientific Mission field campaign in the Czech Republic to collect forest data
News from Jul 24, 2024
Marius Derenthal (FU Berlin), Miriam Herrmann (FU Berlin) and Ephraim Schmidt-Riese (TU Berlin) successfully completed a field campaign for the collection of 3D forest data in the Czech Republic.
During our campaign we and a team from CzechGlobe visited forest plots that are part of the DendroNET network. We collected Terrestrial Laser Scanning data using the Riegl VZ 400i as well as areial laser scans using the Matrice 350. We look forward to working with the data!
Our greatest thanks go to Růžena Janoutová and Barbora Navrátilová who did not only do field work with us but who also showed us the research institute of CzechGlobe, lots of interesting projects and captivating technology as well as the beautiful city of Brno. Moreover, we thank Jan Krejza, Daniel Kopkáně and Marian Pavelka who that gave us insight into their work and who explained more about the DendroNET network.
The campaign was funded by the European Union though a Short Term Scientific Mission under the 3DForEcoTech Cost action.
