On the 25th of April, our working group hosted an event as part of Girls' Day 2024. The workshop, centered around the topic of 'Deforestation in Brazil,' offered insights into land-use change and remote sensing. The students took part in a tour of the Earth Science Library's extensive map collection, followed by a treasure hunt and a hands-on mapping exercise in the PC lab using QGIS.

We welcomed 11 female students aged 12 to 14 from different secondary schools of Berlin. We were excited to help explore the possibilities of a future in STEM. Thanks to all who contributed to making this event a success!
