To support the working group Modelling Human-Environmental Interactions we are looking for 1 student assistant (41 hours/month)

Main tasks:
Independent auxiliary work to support scientific and non-scientific work processes in various research projects of the working group. Data acquisition, pre-processing of geodata in geodatabases, preparation and formatting of image material for publication (infographics). Support in the creation of teaching materials.

Secondary tasks:
Maintenance of Blackboard and editing the working group's database. Administrative support for events, such as Girls Day, MINToring or Long Night of Science.

Desired:
- Studying in a geography-related degree program.
- Knowledge of geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing, especially in dealing with ESRI ArcMap or QGIS (or comparable). Knowledge of the programming language R is an advantage.
- Experience with geodata and tabular analysis
- Basic knowledge of land use systems, modeling, human-environment geography.
- Good MS-Office skills
- good knowledge of German and English (B2), Spanish (A1) is an advantage
- conscientious way of working
- strong ability to work in a team

Zur Unterstützung des Arbeitsbereiches Modelling Human-Environmental Interactions suchen wir 1 Stud. Beschäftigte*n (41 Std./Monat)

Hauptaufgaben:
Eigenständige Hilfsarbeiten zur Unterstützung von wissenschaftlichen und nichtwissenschaftlichen Arbeitsabläufen in unterschiedlichen Forschungsvorhaben der Arbeitsgruppe. Datenerfassung, Vorverarbeitung von Geodaten in Geodatenbanken, Vorbereitung und Formatierung von Bildmaterial für eine Veröffentlichung (Infografiken). Unterstützung bei der Erstellung von Lehrmaterialien.

Nebenaufgaben:
Pflege von Blackboard und die Bearbeitung der Datenbank der Arbeitsgruppe. Administrative Begleitung von Veranstaltungen, wie Girls Day, MINToring oder Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften.

Erwünscht:
• Studium in einem geographischen Studiengang.
• Kenntnisse im Bereich geografischen Informationssystemen (GIS) und Fernerkundung, insbesondere im Umgang mit ESRI ArcMap oder QGIS (oder vergleichbar). Kenntnisse in der Programmiersprache R ist ein Vorteil.
• Erfahrung mit Geodaten und tabellarische Analysen
• Grundkenntnisse über Landnutzungssysteme, Modellierung, Mensch-Umwelt Geographie.
• gute MS-Office Kenntnisse
• gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse (B2), Spanisch (A1) ist von Vorteil
