We have offered an activity in collaboration with the Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics working group for students from the 20th of June until the 24th of June 2022. With the support of the MINToring-Team, we have put together a program for Year 9 students to take part in an internship in which students were able to get an insight into the field of geosciences, in particular, into the fields of GIS in connection with landuse-change and remote sensing.
During our project, the students have gotten familiar with the basics of ArcMap, prepared maps on deforestation in Brazil and produced a poster on the topic of land-use changes in connection with enviornmental and social impacts on indigenous lands - and peoples.
We are thrilled about the outcomes of this project and want to thank our students as well as the team of Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics and the MINToring team, who have contributed to make this an interesting and fulfilling experience.
