Mineral Separation Lab
Building B, Room B239
Contact: PD Dr. J. Elis Hoffmann
We manage a mineral separation lab to obtain minerals for geochronology and geochemical studies. The lab includes a ceramic plate jaw crusher, ball mills, a Frantz Magnetic Separator, sieves, and heavy liquids for density separation.
Methods
-
Frantz Magnetic Separator (separation of minerals according to magnetic susceptibility)
-
Separation using heavy liquids
-
Sieves
-
Ball mills
-
Ceramic plate jaw crusher
