Freie Universität Berlin (FUB) and Anna University (AU), Chennai has prolonged collaboration extending over a decade through several European Union and DAAD funded projects. Ongoing partnership extends through the DAAD-UGC funded project IGCaWR led by PD Dr. Brindha Karthikeyan from the Hydrogeology Working Group, FUB and Prof. Elango Lakshmanan from the Department of Geology, AU.

To further strengthen this international collaboration Ms. Susanne Fuerstenberg, Head-FUB New Delhi office visited AU on 22^nd February 2023 and prepared the ground for further associations in teaching and research. While several actions planned between the two universities were held back during the pandemic, this year would again see raise in the student and faculty exchange activities, as well as joint-events being organised. Besides the continued collaboration in Hydrogeology, especially internship stays in Berlin for AU Master and PhD students in the field of Physics and Chemistry were discussed at the meeting.
