A group of students from the Institute of Geological Sciences including members of the Mineralogy group went in February and March - just before the Corona-Pandemic started - for a scientific field excursion to the Semail ophiolite in the Sultantate of Oman. Aim of the field course was to learn more about ocean floor alteration processes, ophiolite obduction and subduction zone processes.
