Mark Handy was awarded the Gustav Steinmann Medal of the German Geological Society (DGGV) at the 2021 GeoKarlsruhe Meeting.

The medal is the highest awarded by the society and given for excellence in Earth Science research, in this case for Handy’s contributions to the fields of tectonic fault structure, rheology, and geodynamics of the Central Mediterranean mountains and basins.
