AG Tectonics at the EGU in Vienna 2018

We had sucessfull presentations at the EGU in Vienna this year.
Philip Groß presented parts of his ongoing research:
Internal structure and evolution of the Penninic subduction channel of the Tauern Window, Eastern Alps.

Emanuel D. Kästle presented a new shear-velocity model of the Alps, based on surface-wave measurements from ambient noise and earthquakes. It represents the first complete shear-velocity model of the region that shows both crustal and uppermost mantle structures.

Jörg Giese and Mark Handy presented a poster with the latest apatite fission track ages from the footwall of the Shkoder-Peja Normal Fault at the junction of the Dinarides and Hellenides. Also involved in the project is Marc Grund, who just started his Ph.D. on the Tertiary basin evolution in this area.
