Our tectonics institute is currently hosting Ilaria Barone, a visiting PhD student from the University of Padua, working on her PhD project entitled "Seismic surface analysis and inversion: Development and testing of tomographic algorithms spanning a variety of scales". She wants to apply the same tomographic imaging methods as Emanuel Kästle to create a map of the deep structures under a former gas field in northern Italy. She will be here throughout June and July.
