Dr. Mohammad J.A. Moein received his BSc degree in petroleum engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology, Iran (2010) and MSc degree in reservoir geoscience and engineering from IFP School, France (2012). Between 2012-2015, he was actively engaged in several research activities, while working as a reservoir engineer in oil and gas sector in Tehran. Then, he started his PhD in earth sciences at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. After receiving his PhD degree in 2018, he started his research career as postdoctoral researcher at Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany. In 2019, he further continued his research career as a postdoctoral scientist at the University of Halle. Since 2021, he has joined the Free University of Berlin as the DFG principal investigator. His research project is primarily focused on physical understanding of induced earthquakes in fractured rocks.
