German Weather Service (DWD): Requirements in agricultural meteorology in times of climate change and agricultural change
In agriculture meteorology the interaction between soil, flora and atmosphere on arable and green land will be studied. The research in the department of the German Weather Service (DWD) is focusing on questions how weather and climate influence the long-term climate, the water need and availability, the above-ground and below-ground plant grow, nevertheless the greenhouse gas budget of the most important native crop is investigated.
When regarding adaption measures, parametrization of soil and plant specific processes will become more important in near future. In this talk there will be given a closure look in current research work, especially in questions to the hydrological budget of agriculture eco systems and finally how the results will be used to give policy advice.
