The free GIS software SAGA - System for Automated Geoscientific Analyses (www.saga-gis.org) - offers extensive options for the processing of geodata.

This webinar introduces the derivation of continuous fields in form of raster data from irregularly distributed point data with the help of SAGA. Using the example of climate data, it will be demonstrated how interpolation and regression-based approaches can be used to transfer point-by-point observations to the surface. The methods discussed include Nearest Neighbor, Triangulation, Splines, IDW, Ordinary Kriging, and Multiple Linear Regression.
