The 2^nd International Landscape Archaeology Conference (LAC) took place in Berlin from June 6^th - 9^th, 2012. It was a great pleasure for us to welcome the around 200 participants, and we wish to express our sincere thanks to all who contributed to the success of the meeting. There were compelling talks, interesting poster presentations and inspiring discussions. Many new research-related contacts were made. Standing in the tradition of the 1^st Landscape Archaeology Conference held in Amsterdam in 2010, LAC 2012 provided a platform for archaeologists, geographers and researchers from neighbouring disciplines to present and discuss results in the broad field of geo- and landscape archaeology.

Thanks to everybody again for the nice conference and we hope to see you at the LAC 2014 in Rome.
