Joining forces to understand the deep Alpine structures
News from Jun 01, 2020
On March, 11th, seismologists and geologists from the 4DMB SPP project met in Berlin to interpret newest tomographic images of the Alpine structures at depth. This was possible thanks to new data from the Swath D and the AlpArray networks, two large-scale seismic experiments that have ended in 2019. During the meeting, it became evident that such dense 3D arrays are indeed necessary to understand the complexity of crustal and mantle structures.
