“Bridging Eurasia: Environmental and Human Dynamics in Southern Siberia - Need for a high-resolution archive” (DFG TA 540/4-1)
28.04.-02.05.2010, Berlin
Colleagues from Germany, Russia, Canada, the UK and China were invited to discuss and prepare research project applications to the DFG and RFBR (Russian Foundation for Basic Research) which should (i) stimulate a long-term Russian-German and international interdisciplinary cooperation in the Lake Baikal region, (ii) provide a high-resolution environmental and climate archive from Lake Kotokel in southern Siberia, bridging European and East Asian regions and (iii) use obtained sedimentary and biological proxies and environmental reconstructions for the large-scale correlation with the European and East Asian records and in data-model comparison experiments.
